About Us

This vintage tea house feels distinctly North Vietnamese with its nostalgic collection of Chinese furniture, hand-written signs and an antique gramophone and telephone. They serve Northern Vietnamese dishes with some central and southern options. The Vietnamese ham with periwinkle cha oc (snails) comes with fresh herbs, vegetables and rice vermicelli with fish sauce. The subtle crab soup with "canh cua mong toi" (malabar spinach) comes in a clear broth.

Currently, the menu at Tam Vi features over 100 dishes, with favorites including braised fish, fried eggs, fried tofu, shrimp soup with gourd, braised pork with eggs, pickled vegetables, cabbage rolls with meat, boiled native chicken with lime leaves, fried spring rolls, and more. The menu changes with the seasons, but all dishes are traditional Vietnamese recipes.
